The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
We are looking for a Project Officer to contribute to research on applications of geometry to artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtaining rigorous mathematical results in the areas of geometric data science and machine learning
Designing, implementing, and testing algorithms
Engaging in scientific exchange with collaboration partners of the project
Preparing reports, scientific papers, and presentations
Job Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Mathematics or related areas
Knowledge of differential geometry including Riemannian geometry, Lie groups, and homogeneous spaces
Familiarity with fundamental concepts in probability and statistics
Enthusiasm for applying advanced mathematical tools and techniques to applications in machine learning
Good communication skills
Experience in the use of programming languages and interest in the implementation of algorithms relevant to the project
