Strategic Healthcare Consultants Pte. Ltd. (SHC) is a Singapore-based specialist firm delivering upstream healthcare architecture and evidence-based medical planning advisory services. We partner with hospital owners, health systems, and developers across Southeast Asia and South Asia to shape high-performance Hospitality styled Salutogenic & biophilic environments.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Architectural Associate is a pivotal contributor within SHC's design and planning studio. The successful candidate will support the development of high-end healthcare facility briefs, master plans, and schematic design concepts, working directly with the firm's directors on projects of significant scale and complexity. This role is designed for a design professional who combines architectural rigor with design flare.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Architectural Design & Medical Planning Support .
▪ Develop and refine architectural drawings, schematic layouts, and functional planning documents that meets local statutory and regulatory planning requirements across region.
▪ Translate evidence-based design (EBD) principles into buildable design solutions that meets the client’s vision, mission, aims, and objectives.
▪ Prepare space programs, room data sheets, and departmental relationship diagrams in support of feasibility studies and project briefs.
Research & Knowledge Management
▪ Conduct structured literature reviews on emerging models of care, clinical workflow optimization, and healthcare design trends, synthesizing findings for project application aided by Artificial Intelligence (eg. Agentic AI and Machine Learning).
▪ Proactively identify knowledge gaps within the team and surface relevant research, innovations, or industry developments to the firm's leadership to improve workflows and reduce waste & abortive work.
▪ Contribute to the firm's evidence base by maintaining an organized library of references, case studies, and benchmarking data.
Visualization & Documentation
▪ Produce high-quality architectural visualizations, presentation decks, and client-ready documents using Revit, SketchUp, Lumion/Enscape/3D Studio Max, and Adobe InDesign.
▪ Leverage AI-assisted design tools to enhance workflow productivity, explore design options, and support quality assurance.
▪ Prepare accurate, well-coordinated BIM models and drawing sets consistent with project-specific standards and consultant guidelines.
Collaboration & Project Delivery
▪ Work closely with directors, medical planners, and clinical stakeholders, demonstrating initiative and the ability to operate both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
▪ Participate in client meetings, site visits, and workshops; assist in preparing meeting minutes, design reports, and project correspondence.
▪ Support the directors during overseas project travel when required, with applicable travel allowances provided.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
▪ Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) required; Master of Architecture (M.Arch) strongly preferred.
▪ Minimum 3–5 years of post-graduate architectural design experience on high-end projects (hospitality, commercial, Residential, or mixed-use). Healthcare experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
▪ Proficient in: Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, and at least one real-time rendering platform (Lumion, Enscape, or 3ds Max).
▪ Competent in AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, AI-augmented BIM workflows) or demonstrable willingness to upskill rapidly.
▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is an asset given the firm's regional project portfolio.

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
Remuneration will be discussed during the interview process and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The overall package includes:

▪ Performance-based bonus, tied to individual KPI achievement
▪ Overseas travel allowance when required to support directors on international project engagements ▪ Transport allowance (taxi / ride-hailing) for approved project-related travel
