Marvel Animation is hiring a Compositor for one of our animated series productions. This person willbe responsible forthe final composite and output of animated scenes.

This is an IATSE 839position covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

Lighting, rendering, and compositingin After Effectsbased on concepts sent from clients and directors.

Digital touch-up, sweetening, and paint to finish composites as final art/illustrations.

Helpestablishkey Look for Comp set-ups for the project working closely with theLead Compositor, Animation Supervisor, Supervising Producer,and Director

Lead sequences and share setups with your team members

Attend dailies reviews and sequence launches, as needed

Attend Director review meetings, as needed

Execute the Director’s vision and share creative solutions with team members

Assistin developing techniques torenderthe necessary layers withappropriate compositingsoftware and detailed documentation.

Take direction from the directors toestablishsuitable work techniques and lighting tools when needed, as well as macros for 2D software for other team members with detailed documentation explaining tools and techniques.

Additional Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. in Animation, or related field preferred.

• Knowledge and Experience with Effects/FX skills are a plus.

• Digital touch-up and painting ability.

• Extensive knowledge of and Experience withAfter Effects.Experience with Toon BoomHarmonya plus.

• Strong knowledge of Shotgunand Photoshop.

• Digital touch-up and painting ability.

• Able to work independently using commercial and proprietary lighting, rendering, and compositing tools.

The pay rate for this role in Los Angeles is $47.50 to $61.25 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
