Software Engineer (Java / AWS)

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable applications and cloud-based solutions. You will work across the full technology stack, including backend and frontend development, APIs, system integrations, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

Working Hours: Mon- Fri
Working Location: Central
Salary Package: Up to $10,000 (basic) + AWS

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications and internal platforms.
• Translate high-level architectural requirements into scalable and production-ready solutions.
• Develop backend services, RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, microservices and serverless functions.
• Build responsive frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure and applications on AWS.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK or OpenTofu.
• Develop and support system integrations and event-driven architectures.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Implement application security controls including authentication, authorization, encryption and audit logging.
• Ensure solutions meet relevant security, governance and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability, maintainability and performance.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams and other technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot or similar technologies.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Svelte, React or Vue.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as ECS, Kubernetes/EKS and Lambda.
• Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, OpenTofu or similar tools.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL and microservices architecture.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of system integration and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with application security, governance and compliance requirements.
• Ability to translate technical concepts and architectural designs into practical implementations.

Preferred Skills

• Strong experience with Kotlin / Java for backend development.
• Experience with Svelte or React for frontend development.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications within AWS cloud environments.
• Exposure to enterprise or large-scale modernization projects.
• Experience working within environments with stringent security and regulatory requirements.
