As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate production data pipelines inside the client's internal framework — a customized layer on top of an open-source data framework.
This is a pipeline-weighted role — ETL, ingestion, and orchestration are the core; transformation direction is provided through requirements.
You will work as an individual contributor (no direct reports), embedded into the client's data engineering team, reporting to the team's engineering leader.
What you'll work on:
- Build and operate data pipelines from source (Oracle ERP, MS SQL Server) into the lakehouse.
- Work in Databricks on Azure with Unity Catalog as the governance layer.
- Apply Medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and data vault dimensional modeling.
- Incorporate the client's internal data quality framework into every new pipeline.
- Use Azure DevOps for deployments and ticket management.
- Pair with engineers from other data domains on combined-data use cases.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- Experience working inside a custom or internally extended data framework.
- MS SQL Server. Oracle ERP as a source system. Azure DevOps.
- Advanced SQL — CTEs, window functions, complex joins, business-metriclogic.
- ETL, ingestion & orchestration in production — Building pipelines with retry/backoff, schema evolution handling, dependency management, and observability.
- Cloud data platform experience — Databricks preferred (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows). Snowflake or BigQuery accepted as transferable.
- Medallion architecture — Bronze/silver/gold layered transformations inproduction.
- Data vault dimensional modeling — Hub/link/satellite patterns specifically, not just general dimensional modeling.
- Software engineering mindset for data — Modular code, design reviews,CI/CD, version control, agile.
- Full professional English — You will pair regularly across the data team and with business stakeholders.
Why apply:
- Remote — work from anywhere in LATAM
- USD compensation.
- Paid time off
- High-impact role
- Long-term engagement with stability and ownership
- Structured 30/60/90 onboarding plan that sets you up for success
