Job Summary
The Sr. Integration Developer is responsible for leading integration projects, developing and supporting interfaces, and ensuring the efficient and secure exchange of healthcare data. This role includes full lifecycle development requirements gathering, programming, testing, implementation, and maintenance while ensuring data flow reliability across systems and adherence to standards and best practices.
General Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, upgrades, and implementation of HL7/HIE interfaces enabling electronic data exchange.
- Utilize the LifePoint interface engine and HIE infrastructure to translate, transform, and archive HL7/IHE data.
- Provide regular status updates to project management and Integration leadership.
- Design and recommend security standards related to data exchange.
- Monitor interface engines, HIE infrastructure, and connected systems to ensure uninterrupted message transfer and system uptime.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Minimum 5 years of HL7 and HIE data integration design, development, and implementation experience using a healthcare industry interface engine and/or HIE infrastructure.
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience required.
- Preferred experience integrating MedHost (HMS) or Meditech HIS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex integration projects and teams.
Technical Skills
- High-level HL7 expertise (especially ADT & clinical messages) required.
- Preferred knowledge of IHE protocols and CDA architecture.
- Strong IT&S technical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with peers, vendors, and corporate/facility leadership.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an office environment with frequent contact with staff and the public.
- Requires prolonged sitting and occasional bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Requires manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination sufficient to operate office equipment (keyboard, copier, phone, calculator).
- Requires normal hearing and vision to prepare and communicate reports.
- Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
