About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end tax compliance, preparing tax returns and provisions, supporting tax audits, and delivering accurate tax reporting in accordance with Australian Tax Office (ATO) regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in Australian tax law, solid accounting experience, and a proactive approach to advising on tax planning and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Preparing tax returns & financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts & partnerships.
- Bookkeeping, BAS and IAS preparation
- Computation of CGT and depreciation schedule
- Prepare and complete work papers
- Save client notes and client documents to relevant client folders
- Meet all compliance deadlines
- Initiate improvement ideas, as necessary
- Other ad-hoc tasks that may be required by immediate supervisor
- Maintaining familiarity on Australian Tax and ensuring to have up-to-date knowledge on current relevant ATO legislation and issuances.
Requirements
- CA/CPA/CIMA qualified or studying towards
- A minimum of 3 years of experience on Australian tax accounting
- Proficient in using MS application (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Experience in Xero Tax and Xero Practice Manager
- Familiarity with our Accounting software: QuickBooks, MYOB
