Lead Business Analyst – AI, GenAI & Data

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lead Business Analyst – AI, GenAI & Data to lead business analysis and solution definition for enterprise AI, Generative AI and data initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, data scientists, data engineers, architects, risk and technology teams to identify high-value use cases, define business and functional requirements, assess feasibility and translate business needs into scalable AI and data solutions.

The role requires a strong combination of Business Analysis, AI/GenAI knowledge, Data Analytics and stakeholder management, preferably within banking, financial services or another regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Lead requirements gathering and analysis for AI, GenAI and data-related initiatives.
• Engage business and technology stakeholders to understand business problems, objectives and expected outcomes.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, functional specifications, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct gap analysis, feasibility assessments and impact analysis.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews and requirement validation sessions.
• Work closely with technical teams throughout solution design, development, testing and implementation.

AI, GenAI & Data Use Cases

• Identify and assess high-value AI, GenAI, NLP, predictive analytics and data analytics use cases.
• Evaluate business value, feasibility, risks and implementation considerations for proposed AI initiatives.
• Support AI solution ideation, prototyping and implementation.
• Work with data scientists, engineers and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Support use cases involving LLMs, conversational AI/chatbots, predictive models, intelligent automation and data analytics.
• Understand and articulate practical business applications of LLM technologies such as GPT, Claude and Llama.

Data & Analytics

• Work with business and technical teams on data requirements, data quality and data lifecycle considerations.
• Interpret analytical and data science outputs and translate findings into actionable business insights.
• Support reporting and analytics requirements using tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Work effectively with technical teams using technologies such as SQL, Python and cloud-based data platforms.

Stakeholder Management & Solution Advisory

• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and AI/Data technology teams.
• Engage senior stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and identify opportunities for AI and data adoption.
• Present business cases, solution options and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution architects, data scientists, engineers, product owners, risk and compliance teams.
• Drive alignment between business objectives, solution design and enterprise architecture.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure AI and data initiatives comply with applicable data privacy, information security, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Work with risk and compliance teams to identify and address risks associated with AI and data solutions.
• Support responsible AI considerations including governance, transparency and appropriate use of enterprise data.

Change Management & Adoption

• Support business adoption of new AI and data capabilities.
• Develop user documentation, training materials and presentations.
• Conduct workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions for business users.
• Monitor business outcomes following implementation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Analysis, Solution Analysis, Product Management or related technology roles.
• At least 5 years of experience working with AI/ML and/or enterprise data technologies.

• Experience delivering AI, GenAI, Machine Learning or data-driven initiatives from requirements/ideation through implementation.
• Good understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, predictive analytics and AI/ML concepts.
• Understanding of the data lifecycle, data management and model deployment concepts.
• Familiarity with Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Working knowledge of SQL and Python is advantageous.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Azure AI/OpenAI, AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation and influencing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, architects, data scientists, data engineers and development teams.
• Experience leading workshops and working across cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within banking, financial services or regulated environments.
• Experience delivering enterprise AI/GenAI transformation or adoption initiatives.
• Exposure to Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Power Platform or Azure AI services.
• Experience with conversational AI, chatbots, intelligent automation or predictive analytics.
• Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, data privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading Business Analysts.
