FRESHGRADS WELCOME TO APPLY!!
About the Role
We are seeking a junior Software Engineer (AI &Microsoft Copilot Platform) to help build and support enterprise AI assistants and automations using Microsoft Copilot Studio and the Microsoft Power Platform. You will contribute to delivering secure, scalable, and well-governed solutions for internal corporate functions, working within established engineering standards and controls.
Key Responsibilities
AI-Enabled Engineering & Copilot Studio
- Develop and configure enterprise copilots using Microsoft Copilot Studio (topics, actions, connectors, prompts, knowledge sources).
- Implement ‘agentic’ workflows where the copilot can execute approved actions (e.g., create tickets, retrieve data, trigger flows) with appropriate confirmation, logging, and access controls.
- Apply AI-assisted development practices responsibly (code generation, test generation, documentation) and validate outputs for accuracy, security, and compliance.
- Integrate copilot solutions with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform services (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Power Automate, Dataverse) under guidance.
Power Platform & Automation Engineering
- Support solution lifecycle activities across development, testing, release, and production support.
- Build and maintain Power Platform components (Power Automate flows, Power Apps, Dataverse tables) where applicable.
- Assist with environment management, solution packaging, deployments, and rollback plans using approved processes.
Software Engineering & SDLC
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, release, and operate.
- Use version control (e.g., Git), peer reviews, documentation, and testing to maintain quality.
- Troubleshoot issues using logs and basic debugging techniques; escalate appropriately with clear reproduction steps.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- 0–3 years of software engineering experience (internships and project experience welcome).
- Foundational understanding of software engineering principles (data structures, APIs, testing, secure coding basics).
- Strong interest in AI-assisted development and enterprise platforms; comfortable learning new tools quickly.
- Willingness to work extensively with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform in a governed enterprise environment.
Highly Desirable
- Exposure to Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, or similar conversational/LLM application tools (through coursework or projects).
- Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and/or Power Platform ALM concepts (solutions, environments).
- Basic programming experience in one or more languages (e.g., Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript) and familiarity with REST APIs.
Tech Stack & Tools (Exposure)
- Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse
- Microsoft 365 integrations (Teams, SharePoint) and connectors
- APIs (REST/JSON), identity concepts (Azure AD/Entra ID awareness), and secrets/configuration handling
- Source control (Git) and CI/CD concepts; Power Platform ALM tooling is a plus
Career Level & Development
This role is suitable for early-career Software Engineers (typically up to 3 years of experience), with progression based on skills development, contribution, and performance.
