Reporting directly to the Chief Credit Officer, the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Consumer Lending is a key leader providing, strategic oversight, and operational excellence across the full spectrum of consumer lending functions, including Indirect Lending, Direct Consumer Lending Underwriting, and Consumer Lending Operations. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, will be a strategic thinker, have strong credit management skills, understand the competitive landscape of Nuvision’s markets, utilize profitability analyzing tools for product pricing, and a background familiar with regulatory and compliance ensuring Nuvision’s consumer lending programs are competitive, compliant, efficient, and aligned with Nuvision’s purpose, vision and strategic goals. Supports and leads cultural change within functional areas of responsibility and works closely with the CCO and direct reports as well as other colleagues to sustain an ongoing culture and organizational capabilities. This position is responsible for setting, achieving, and evaluating lending goals, and responds to changes in regulatory, market and competitive conditions. The SVP is responsible for ensuring all lending policies, practices, technologies, and workflows enhance member experience, safeguard credit quality, and drive sustainable portfolio growth. As a senior leader, the SVP collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure lending products and services meet member needs and advance the Credit Union’s vision and purpose. This position develops and executes the consumer lending segment in conjunction with other leaders. In close consultation with the executive leadership, establishes cross functional processes and defines the consumer lending sales, underwritings, and operations sets. Accountable for building deep and profitable relationships with partners and achieves annual business results (P&L) that meet or exceed annual budget plan and goals. This position is accountable for overall Consumer lending success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and enterprise accountability for the Consumer Lending division, encompassing Indirect Lending, Consumer Lending Underwriting, and Consumer Lending Operations, with responsibility for overall performance, alignment, and results across these functions.
- Ensures each department established metrics are tracked, analyzed and reported on a regular basis.
- In conjunction with the CCO and the Consumer Lending VPs, this position is responsible for development of Consumer Lending Strategy, implementation plan to clearly define and measure each consumer lending area for their performance results and measurable outcomes.
- Ensures competitive product and services for members’ needs in each market. Responsible for Consumer Lending VPs to maximize productivity, profitability (P&L), and efficiency. Delivers annual business results (P&L) better than budget.
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of Vice Presidents responsible for key consumer lending functions by setting clear strategic objectives, performance expectations, and leadership standards, and by supporting their professional growth and succession readiness.
- Monitors performance provides ongoing performance feedback and coaching to direct reports, indirect reports and others as needed and conducts performance & development conversations as well as effective performance evaluations.
- Partner with the Chief Lending Officer to develop, execute, and monitor consumer lending strategies aligned with the Credit Union’s goals, providing regular updates on performance, portfolio trends, and risk considerations.
- Responsible for administration, performance and optimization of the mortgage systems, analyses and development of department metrics and prepares reports for review by executive leaders and CCO.
- Maintains and monitors the Consumer Lending pipeline to ensure that loans are processed in a timely manner.
- Maintains and reviews monthly statistics of management and reports quality of loan applications submitted by various channels, approved and funded trends
- Champion continuous improvement and modernization across consumer lending by establishing expectations for process efficiency, effective technology utilization, regulatory adherence, and consistent, high-quality member experiences.
- Ensure strong governance and oversight of credit risk by establishing and maintaining appropriate underwriting standards, portfolio quality controls, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Serve as the final escalation point for complex credit exceptions and strategic lending decisions in accordance with all Federal, State, and NCUA requirements.
- Provide financial stewardship for the Consumer Lending division by developing and overseeing the annual budget, monitoring financial performance, and reviewing key performance indicators to ensure achievement of growth, profitability, and risk objectives.
- Promote a high-performance leadership culture grounded in collaboration, integrity, accountability, and innovation, while supporting leadership development, employee engagement, and long-term talent development across the division.
- Supports and leads cultural change as emerges and works closely with the CCO and direct reports as well as other colleagues to sustain an ongoing culture and organizational capabilities.
- Participates in the development and enhancement of Credit Union defined ethics and values, and strategic planning in relation to consumer lending programs, trends and other areas of responsibilities.
- Represent the Credit Union at an executive level in internal and external engagements, including interactions with members, team members, business partners and dealers, regulators, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Perform other executive-level duties as assigned in support of the Credit Union’s mission, strategic priorities, and operational excellence.
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities.
- Represents the Credit Union in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintains member, team members and other sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Treats co-workers and members with respect.
- Supports, participates and volunteers in credit union member community activities, member relations and events that promotes member centric experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Consumer Lending sales and operations with direct credit authority, as well as analyzing loan portfolio and product management. Includes five years of directly related leadership experience.
- Well-rounded knowledge of banking or financial institutional mortgage lending.
- High level of Credit experience.
- xperience working for an organization with a regional model including some matrix reporting structure.
- Business plans, and budget planning and preparation.
- Understands credit scoring and automated approval systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Federal, State and NCUA applicable laws and regulations, internal policies related to consumer lending.
- Experience with product innovation and digital lending platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills sufficient to present complex subjects in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to analyze and evaluate loan requests and make credit decisions.
- Ability to develop effective solutions and make decisions that can impact the entire organization and be accountable.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Position requires the ability to determine realistic and attainable strategic plans to meet business development goals.
- Strong management, organizational and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 plus years of progressive leadership in consumer lending, including underwriting and operations experience.
- Proven knowledge and experience managing multiple lending functions, including consumer operations, indirect and direct lending programs.
- Deep understanding of loan processing systems, credit analysis, underwriting guidelines, and risk management.
- Experience working at a financial institution.
- Experience working for an organization with a regional model including some matrix reporting structure.
Education:
- Knowledge at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field, in order to acquire the technical background necessary to perform assigned duties and a professional certification or graduate degree.
