Launched in2020, the GLFx network brings together more than 60 locally rootedorganizations and community-led chapters across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and LatinAmerica and the Caribbean. Representing diverse landscapes, ecosystems, andknowledge systems, these organizations respond to climate change, biodiversityloss, and inequality through restoration, conservation, advocacy,ecopreneurship, and collective action, while strengthening local livelihoods,cultural heritage, and community knowledge systems.
Through theGLF’s global ecosystem of partners, GLFx chapters engage in trust-based andequity-centered collaboration, benefiting from peer learning, networking, mediavisibility, participation in regional and global events, and access to fundingand partnership opportunities that support locally led landscape action.
The GLFxGlobal Coordinator will serve as the global focal point for the GLFx network, with a special focus on the Africa region, leading the strategic coordination,growth, and strengthening of the initiative across regions. Working within theCommunity & Action team, including in close collaboration with the Youthprogram, and alongside regional officers and the Learning, Knowledge, DigitalCommunications, and Sustainable Finance teams, the coordinator will support theeffective implementation of the GLFx strategy and contribute to building avibrant, connected, and action-oriented global community rooted in landscapes.
The GLFx Coordinator will work closely with the following team members:

- GLFLearning, Knowledge, and Digital Communications teams
- GLFSustainable Finance team
- GLF Africa,Asia-Pacific, and Latin America regional hubs

Summary of responsibilities
1. Strategy development and globalcoordination
- Lead the implementation and continuousdevelopment of the GLFx strategy, ensuring alignment of GLFx program activitieswith the broader GLF and CIFOR-ICRAF agenda.
- Ensure GLFx integration and collaborationamong GLF programs, including Youth, Learning, Knowledge, DigitalCommunications, Sustainable Finance, and Administration.
- Coordinate the global GLFx ecosystem acrossregions (Africa, Asia-Pacific, LAC), ensuring both quantitative and qualitativegrowth and community ownership.
- Ensure strong co-creation and consultationprocesses with chapters, local organizations, and the GLFx Steering Committeeto inform the program’s priorities and decisions.
- Guide the development and delivery offlagship programs (learning journeys, hubs, mentorship, grant calls, mediacollaborations, etc.), knowledge products, and global and regional activities,such as workshops, training, exchanges, assemblies, and conferences.
- Lead and oversee chapter selection,onboarding, and engagement processes, and ensure compliance with the GLFxgoverning terms and membership guidelines.
- Lead and support Community and Actionregional and thematic officers, fostering collaboration, alignment, andeffective communication.
2.Community engagement, visibility, and representation
- Guide the development of practices andprocesses that support chapters’ local organizations in fostering a sense ofbelonging, a shared identity, cross-landscape collaboration, and a collectivevoice for landscape restoration.
- Coordinate with Digital Communications andKnowledge teams to strengthen visibility of GLFx chapters across platforms(website, newsletters, campaigns, etc.) and amplify narratives of local agencyand leadership.
- Oversee engagement plans, messages, andactivities to foster connections and collaboration among chapters and the widerGLF community and partners’ network.
3.Impact-oriented partnerships, fundraising, and progress monitoring
- Foster partnerships between GLFx chapters,GLF Charter Members, CIFOR-ICRAF scientists, donors, and regional partners.
- Develop, lead, and maintain relationships with bothnew and existing strategic partners and donors to ensure the GLFx program isrecognized, amplified, and supported by partners.
- Contribute to funding opportunities andresource mobilization efforts, including proposal development, donorcoordination, and reporting.
- Identify, connect with, and coordinate withCIFOR-ICRAF networks to ensure technical support and evidence-based approachesare applied in GLFx activities.
- Support monitoring, evaluation, learning, andimpact assessment (MELIA) processes, including tracking KPIs, impactindicators, lessons learned, and generating impact stories.
- Prepare and manage annual work plans andbudgets, ensuring transparent and strategic use of resources.
